About Me

I'm Richard Morris.

I am a writer, guitar player, and amateur filmmaker from Phoenix, Arizona. My love for writing stems from my love of music and movies. Over 10 years ago, I picked up an acoustic guitar, and I have not stopped playing since. I even attended the Arizona School for the Arts in downtown Phoenix where I took classical guitar classes as well as choir.

From there, I attended Arizona State University. I double-majored in English and Philosophy. After graduating a semester early, I went straight into grad school and received a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. This degree allowed me to study the intersection between philosophy and film while also teaching me how to combine different disciplines and fields of study to solve complex problems.

Since leaving school, I have pursued a career as a writer. My professional experience includes writing for a number of different websites. My first position was contributing to SuperHeroStuff.com's The Source. With them, I wrote dozens of articles about comic books, movies, and TV shows all revolving around superheroes. I was even able to interview a few comic book legends like Jae Lee, Arthur Suydam, and Todd Nauck.

After graduating college, I wrote briefly for A Better Today Recovery Services, who publish articles primarily on substance use disorder and treatment for substance use disorder. My articles with them served dual purposes. They provided useful information relating to substance use disorder and treatment while also advertising treatments and treatment centers across the United States. Although I loved this position, the writing team was laid-off in October of 2020.

Presently, I am Movie/TV writer for The Nerd Stash and a freelance writer for Healthcare Alliance - North Carolina.

I am always looking for more work and more things to write about. I'm open to nearly any topic, but I have expertise in literature, philosophy, music, comic books, superheroes, TV, movies, substance use disorder, and mental healthcare.

Thank you for visiting my portfolio and getting to know a little bit about me and my work. As a young writer, it means everything.
